Live Bird Lecture at Garden City Public Library

Friends of the Garden City Public Library will present a FREE live wildlife lecture “Raptors; Hunters of the Air” on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Garden City Public Library located at 60 Seventh St., Garden City, NY. Alice Bryant, Wildlife Care Coordinator will bring beautiful birds from the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary to show the audience. This public program is funded by The Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Seating and parking is limited and on a first-come basis. No tickets are required to attend. For directions phone: (516) 742-8405.

Hawks, owls and falcons deftly swoop through the air, eyes and ears ever alert for unsuspecting prey. Their unique design and deadly weapons make them some of the most beautiful yet formidable hunters. Learn how to identify these birds while gaining a greater understanding about their adaptations and habits. Enjoy the program and then see the December showcase exhibit presented by the Garden City Bird Sanctuary.
