The Flyers suffered their fourth loss in as many weeks Sunday, this time succumbing to Mount St. Michael 13-6 in their second-to-last home game of the year at Chaminade High School.
Both defenses held strong in the first half, with neither appearing to give an inch. Chaminade had several chances to open the scoring as Mount St. Michael had four fumble turnovers in the first half, but were unable to capitalize with recoveries inside the redzone.
The Flyers had a chance to make it 3-0 but Kevin Donahue's 48-yard attempt in the first went wide of the goal posts.

Both teams were locked in a scoreless tie through three quarters, with the game looking like it was headed to overtime until the Mountaineers broke through in a drive that started late in the third by junior Michael Perrotta's 23-yard rush and capped by a pass from junior QB Jaylen Amaker to runningback Tarik Hawkins who raced down to the 16. Amaker and Perrotta would go back and forth driving the ball down to Ott Fields eastern endzone to take the lead 6-0. Mount was unable to complete the conversion.
Flyers defense forced a turnover after five plays and thanks to a leaping catch from junior wide receiver Matt Virgilio made a first down at the 20-yard line. Sophomore Daniel Fowler managed to break through the Mountaineers' line for a 56-yard carry to the 30-yard line and then topped it off two plays later with a 32-yard touchdown to even the score. However, the ensuing hike for the kick was too high, with Donahue unable to get the ball set before the Mountaineer defense came too close.

Fowler had 112 yards on 12 carries in the game while Flyer QB Joseph Anile went 2/13 for 40 yards. Flyers RB Ed Tigh ran for 34 on 13 attempts with a 31-yard reception.
Senior Kenneth Aquah was the star of the ensuing Mountaineer drive, gaining over 30 yards and putting the ball on Chaminade's two-yard line before carrying it in from the three to put the Mount ahead for good. However, Perrotta would come out of the game with an apparent injury to his right leg. After the game, Mountaineers head coach Mario Valentini said that there was no news of the junior's condition and he would be evaluated. "Until we get medical evaluation, we really don't know," he said.
With less than two minutes left on the clock, Anile connected with Tigh for a 10-yard gain to get to the 44-yard line only to be picked off by senior defensive back Najae Brown near the endzone and running it back near the line of scrimmage.
