Former Sub Mail Carrier Used Stolen Credit Card at Roosevelt Field Mall Store: Police

The woman used the card to buy over $4,800 worth of merchandise at Nordstrom's.

EAST GARDEN CITY, NY - A Baldwin woman was arrested on Tuesday after using a stolen credit card to buy over $4,800 worth of things at the Nordstrom’s in Roosevelt Field Mall back in September 2014, according to Nassau County Police.

On September 12, 2014, 25-year-old Shereen Maignan, entered the store located at 630 Old Country Road in East Garden City at about 5:24 p.m. and was videotaped buying assorted merchandise using a stolen Chase Bank credit card, police said.

The credit card was reported by the victim as not being delivered or received through the US Postal Service.

The US Postal Inspector investigated the complaint and found that the Maignan was a substitute mail carrier for that time and location of East Meadow when the victim reported the incident, according to police.

After a combined effort of investigations, she was found and arrested at 10:05 a.m. on Tuesday.

She is charged with third degree grand larceny and first degree identity theft, police said.

She was arraigned on Tuesday.
