Catherine Amabile, 54, of Long Beach, was arrested on Aug. 4 and charged with shoplifting from Bloomingdales, located on Old Country Road in East Garden City.

Jorge Barrera-Calderon, 21, of West Hempstead, was arrested on Aug. 6 and charged with shoplifting from Macy’s, located on Old Country Road in East Garden City.
Derek S. Walker, 46, of Uniondale, was arrested on Aug. 8 and charged with shoplifting from Macy’s, located on Old Country Road in East Garden City.

Emma M. Foynes, 18, of Maspeth, was arrested on Aug. 8 and charged with shoplifting from Sephora, located on Old Country Road in East Garden City.
Nyeree Boyadjian, 18, of Flushing, was arrested on Aug. 8 and charged with shoplifting from Sephora, located on Old Country Road in East Garden City.
Lauren Gunderson, 18, of Oceanside, was arrested on Aug. 8 and charged with shoplifting from Sephora, located on Old Country Road in East Garden City.
Matthew Chang, 21, and Austin J. Son, 21, both of Great neck, were arrested on Aug. 9 and charged with shoplifting from Uniqlo, located on Old Country Road in East Garden City.
Two 16-year-old boys were issued appearance tickets on Aug. 2 for trespassing on the grounds of the Stratford School.
Officers investigated a report of multiple unauthorized charges against a resident’s credit card account on Aug. 3.
Firefighters and Officers responded to a report of a postal vehicle on fire on St. James Street South on Aug. 3.
A truck traveling north struck the Cherry Valley Train Trestle on Aug. 4. The truck suffered substantial damage. Upon investigation by MTA inspectors, the bridge did not appear to be damaged. The driver, a 46-year-old man from Atlanta, Georgia, was charged with disregarding bridge clearance signs and uninsured operation.
Garden City detectives arrested a 22-year-old man from Bellport on Aug. 5 for leaving the scene of an accident with another vehicle on Main Street and Meadow Street. The incident occurred on Aug. 2.
Officers responded to Washington Avenue for a traffic condition caused by a large tree limb falling onto the roadway on Aug. 5.
Upon investigation of a larceny of checks from a vehicle on Locust Street in June and the subsequent unauthorized cashing of one the checks for $1,700, Garden City Detectives arrested a 26-year-old man from West Hempstead on Aug. 6. At the time of arrest, the subject was found to be in possession of six forged credit cards. The subject was charged with seven counts of possession of a forged instrument, grand larceny and a Lynbrook Village Traffic Warrant.
A package left at the front of a Euston Road residence by a courier service was reported stolen on Aug. 6.
A derogatory phrase was found etched on a slide in the St. Paul’s Playground on Aug. 6.
Garden City Officers assisted Nassau County Detectives in an accident investigation that occurred in Westbury resulting in the arrest of a 31-year-old man from Garden City on Aug. 6 for leaving the scene of an accident and a 44-year-old woman from Garden City for two open Garden City Justice Court Traffic Warrants.
Officers responded to the Garden City Hotel on Aug. 7 and assisted firefighters in the removal of a person who was stuck in an elevator.
As a result of a traffic investigation on Franklin Avenue on Aug. 8, officers arrested a 48-year-old man from Hempstead for aggravated unlicensed operation (seven license suspensions), tailgating and unsafe lane usage.
