Garden City Panera Sets Opening Date

Franklin Avenue branch will be Long Island's 28th cafe.

Panera Bread will open their doors in Garden City early next month, according to Doherty Enterprises, Inc.

The newest branch, located at 1140 Franklin Avenue, is set to open their doors on March 9, officials said.

“We are excited to open our new Panera Bread location in Garden City,” said Greg George, vice president of operations for Doherty Enterprises, Inc. “As we continue to staff the café with energetic individuals, we look forward to bringing the better-for-you food options to the convenient location on Franklin Avenue and offering the to-go ordering option to better serve our busy guests.”

Garden City Panera’s hours will be 6:30-10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, and 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday.

Doherty is the Panera Bread franchisee for Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Panera will also be hiring 60 new associates and managers for the Garden City location. Candidates must be 18 or older and are encouraged to apply in person from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Garden City branch. A valid identification will be required. Experience is preferred for associates jobs but not required. Managerial applicants should have two or more years of leadership experience.
