3 Hurt, 1 Seriously, in LIE Crash Caused by Icy Conditions
The three-car crash occurred early Sunday morning, police say.

One person was seriously hurt and two others suffered minor injuries in a three-car crash on the Long Island Expressway early Sunday morning that police say was caused by icy road conditions.
According to police, Neil Wade, of Islip, was driving his 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer east on the LIE between exits 48 and 49 in Melville when his vehicle hit a patch of ice and struck the center divider at about 3 a.m.
Moments later, Wade’s vehicle was struck by a 2011 Toyota pickup truck, which also slid on the icy roadway, pushing the Trailblazer into Wade, who had exited his vehicle to inspect the damage, police said.
