Voters Easily Approve Garden City School Budget

Garden City residents approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.

The $110.8 million budget was approved by a margin of 1,315 to 324. The budget is a 0.61 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 1.09 percent hike in the tax levy.

Voters also elected Laura Hastings and William C. Holub to the Garden City Board of Education for a three-year term. Both were running unopposed.
