Life's WORC Earns National Accreditation

The organization was honored for its commitment to helping people with disabilities.

Life’s WORC (lifesworc.org) has been awarded accreditation status in “Person Centered Excellence” by the Council on Quality and Leadership (www.c-q-l.org). Life’s WORC is a 45-year-old non-profit agency based in Garden City, which serves some 1,400 people with developmental disabilities including individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

“This is a professional peer review accomplishment which has been earned by our dedicated, diligent staff,” said Life’s WORC Executive Director Janet Koch. “There are only a few non-profit agencies in our field from Long Island who have achieved this recognition. There are about 50 organizations which have been granted this designation out of some 600 agencies in this field, statewide.”

Inspired by a vision of a world of dignity, opportunity, and community inclusion for all people, CQL is an international leader in the definition, measurement, and improvement of quality of life for people with disabilities.
