Man Breaks Door While Trying to Escape Security at Roosevelt Field Mall: Police

The man was being arrested for using a fake Hawaiian driver's license and credit card at Neiman Marcus, police say.

EAST GARDEN CITY, NY - A Brooklyn man broke a door while trying to escape security as he was being arrested for opening a credit account and purchasing items at the Neiman Marcus with a fake driver's license and credit card on Wednesday night, according to Nassau Police.

Kyle Brown, 27, entered the store on 620 Old Country Road and opened an account with a fake Hawaiian driver’s license and credit card at about 6:45 p.m., police said.

He then bought several items with the account totaling $2,250, police said.

Brown was apprehended by loss prevention and while he was being escorted to the security office fled into the mall causing damage to a door, police said.

He was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and placed under arrest, police said.

He was found to be in possession of two additional licenses and two fake credit cards, police said.

Brown is charged with six counts of second degree possession of a forged instrument, second degree forgery, first degree identity theft, fourth degree grand larceny, third degree criminal mischief and third degree unlawful possession of personal identification information, police said.

He will be arraigned on Thursday.
