Man Killed After Being Struck By Two Cars While Crossing Street
Police say the investigation is ongoing, but no one has been charged yet. Both drivers remained at the scene.
A man was killed in Hempstead Tuesday night after he was hit by two cars while trying to cross a road, police say.
According to police, the 38-year-old man was crossing South Franklin Street at Elm Avenue just after 9 p.m. when he was hit by a 2014 Nissan Altima that was heading south on South Franklin Street. The man was then hit by a 2009 BMW X-5, police say, which was also heading south on South Franklin Street.
The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later by doctors.

Police say that the drivers of both cars remained at the scene, and both vehicles underwent brake and safety checks.
