Man Used Fake ID To Cash Checks At Three Nassau Banks: Police
The 54-year-old visited the three banks within an hour Thursday, police say.

A Brooklyn man was arrested on Thursday for cashing checks using a fake ID at three different Nassau County banks in one day, according to Nassau Police.
Walter Tyler, 54, first entered a TD Bank in Hempstead at 12:27 p.m. where he presented a check for $1,880 along with a fake Maryland state driver's license in and was able to obtain the cash for that among, police said.
About half an hour later, Tyler entered a TD Bank in Garden City presented a check for the same amount using the same fake ID and obtained the cash, police said.

Then at 1:30 p.m. he entered a third TD Bank in West Hempstead presented another check for $1,880 with the fake ID and attempted to receive the cash.
The teller of the bank became suspicious and called police.

Tyler was placed under arrest without incident, police said.
He is being charged with six counts of second degree possession of a forged instrument, two counts of fourth degree grand larceny, fourth degree attempted grand larceny and four counts of second degree identity theft.
He was due to be arraigned on Friday.
