Mets deGrom, Harvey, Gooden, along with Mookie and Buckner, to appear at Steiner Store Dec. 3
Doc Gooden, Matt Harvey and Jacob deGrom "Take the Mound" at Steiner Store. Mookie Wilson and Bill Buckner to also appear.

Three of the phenomenal rookie pitchers in Mets annals, and two players forever intertwined by one of the most historic plays in World Series folklore, will all appear at the Steiner Store on Wednesday night, December 3. The legendary Doc Gooden and today’s aces Matt Harvey and Jacob deGrom, all who enjoyed memorable debut seasons in the big leagues in the Mets uniform, will be joined by Mookie Wilson and Bill Buckner, linked by the most memorable groundball in Game 6 of the 1986 Fall Classic, in a hot stove league session at the Steiner flagship Long Island location at Roosevelt Field Mall (630 Old Country Road) to sign autographs, meet fans and take photos from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
For tickets and more information call the Steiner Store at 516-739-0580 or visit http://www.steinersports.com/upcoming-signings.html.
As a 19-year-old rookie in 1984, Gooden hit the major leagues by storm. Dr. K won 17 games, led the National League in strike outs with 276, and became the youngest player to appear in an All-Star game. He was voted “Rookie of the Year” for his heroics that season. Harvey struck out 11 batters in his major league debut in 2012, a franchise record, and fanned 70 in 59.1 innings. Harvey continued that excellence in 2013 when he established himself as ace of the Mets staff and was the starting pitcher for the All-Star game on his home mound at Citi Field. He had a 9-5 record and tidy 2.27 ERA before an elbow injury and subsequent Tommy John surgery curtailed his brilliant season. Last season deGrom captured the fancy of Mets fans and N.L. observers en route to Rookie of the Year honors. The shortstop-turned-pitcher turned heads with a 9-6 record, 2.69 ERA and 144 strikeouts in 141.1 innings. He tied a MLB record when he struck out the first eight Marlins that he faced on September 15, equaling Houston’s Jim Deshaies, who set the mark on Sept. 23, 1986.

In the historic Game 6 of the 1986 World Series, during a 10-pitch at-bat with Bob Stanley on the mound, Wilson first avoided being hit by a wild pitch that scored Kevin Mitchell from third and tied the score. Two pitches later, he hit a slow roller toward Buckner at first. The ball rolled through the Boston first baseman’s legs and into right field, allowing Ray Knight to score the winning run from second base.
Harvey will sign baseballs and flats for $99 and equipment for $149 ($50 for inscriptions); deGrom will sign any item for $59 ($29 per inscription); and Gooden will sign for free with any other autograph, and $25 for a second autograph ($10 for inscriptions).
