Nassau County Holding Gun Buy-Back This Saturday
You can get cash for firearms, and it's all anonymous.

Nassau County is holding a gun buy-back this weekend, and residents who want to get rid of firearms are encouraged to bring them in.
The buy-back will be held at Grace Cathedral, located at 886 Jerusalem Ave. in Uniondale, from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 2.
The program is anonymous, and people will be paid cash for every operable gun they bring in. They will get $100 for a rifle, $200 for a handgun and $400 for an assault rifle. Licensed guns, BB guns, air pistols, long guns and replicas will not be accepted. There is a limit of 10 firearms per person.

If you're driving to the buy-back, the firearms must be in the trunk of your car. All guns turned in must be unloaded and put in a plastic or paper bag, or in a shoe box.
The money for the program comes from asset forfeiture funds from the police department and the District Attorney's office.
