Nassau Man Arrested After Failed Bank Robbery Attempt: Police
Police say he demanded money from the teller, but fled before he got anything.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — A Hempstead man was arrested on Thursday after a failed attempt at robbing a bank, Nassau County police said.
According to police, Tyrell Guthrie, 33, entered the TD Bank at 252 Peninsula Blvd. at 4:05 p.m. Police say he approached the teller and demanded money, but then fled without anything.
He was arrested soon after a short distance away from the bank.

Guthrie is charged with third-degree robbery. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in court on Jan. 27.
