Nassau Police to Search Pedestrians Around Hofstra Debate
Here's the list of things you shouldn't be carrying if you're going to the area around Hofstra on Monday.

On Monday, Sept. 26, Hofstra University will be hosting the first Presidential Debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
In addition to closing roads all over the area around the school (which you can read about here), pedestrians entering the area will be subject to search by the Nassau County Police Department. All of the following items are prohibited in the secure zone around the school:
- Aerosols
- Ammunition
- Animals other than service animals
- Backpacks
- Bags and signs exceeding size restrictions
- Balloons
- Bicycles
- Coolers
- Drones and other unmanned aircraft systems
- Explosives
- Firearms
- Glass, thermal or metal containers
- Laser pointers
- Mace/Pepper spray
- Packages
- Selfie sticks
- Structures
- Supports for signs and placards
- Toy guns
- Weapons of any kind
- Any other item determined to be a potential hazard
The list is not all-inclusive, and Nassau County Police Department reserves the right to prohibit any other items it deems may be dangerous.
