Nassau Police Searching For Missing Vulnerable Adult

UPDATE: Police say that Henry Nelson has been found.

ORIGINAL STORY: Nassau County police are seeking the public's help to find a vulnerable adult who went missing in Hempstead early Monday afternoon.

According to police, Henry Nelson, 45, was last seen leaving his home on Winthrop Street at noon and walking north. Nelson is black, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 150 pounds with black hair and black eyes. He walks with a slight limp.

He was last seen wearing a red jacket, blue jeans, red and white shoes and a green and black backpack. He suffers from a cognitive disorder and is non-verbal, police say. His possible destination is unknown.

Police ask anyone with information about Nelson's whereabouts to call the Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
