Police Nab Man Who Drove Off After Hit-And-Run
Police say that the man, from Queens, severely injured another and drove away from the scene.
A Queens man was arrested by Garden City police on Friday for leaving the scene after police say he struck someone with his car.
According to police, Caner Kutyar, 34, of 139th Street, Briarwood, was driving on Franklin Avenue in Hempstead just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday when he hit a 43-year-old man. Police say that Kutyar left the scene.
The man, who suffered multiple injuries, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Kutyar is charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident with serious personal injury to a victim. He was arraigned on Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
