Mother Arrested For Driving Drunk With 6-Year-Old Son In Car: Police

Police say the woman drove her car into a parked car.

A mother from Queens was arrested Wednesday evening after police say she got into a crash while driving drunk with her son in the car.

According to police, officers were called to Jerusalem Avenue and Uniondale Avenue in Uniondale at 5:45 p.m. for a car crash. Police say that the driver, Ladion L. Logan, 31, of Jamaica, had struck a parked car. While police were investigating, they say that Logan began yelling and cursing at the officers. After a struggle, she was placed under arrest, and police say they determined she had been driving drunk.

Logan's 6-year-old son was in the car at the time of the accident, but was unharmed. He was released to the care of family members.

Logan was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (Leandra's Law), driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child. She was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
