Stewart Manor resident honored for essay saluting veterans

Stop & Shop's "Operation Hometown Heroes" essay contest participants recognized by the Museum of American Armor

Stop & Shop’s Bob Young and historic re-enactors Jim Michaud (left) and Kevin Carroll, from the Museum of American Armor, welcome Stewart Manor resident, Francine Scuderi, to the American Armor Museum in Old Bethpage. Scuderi was among the contest participants recognized by the Museum of American Armor, for an essay saluting the heroic efforts of U.S. military veterans. Scuderi and other participants in Stop & Shop’s “Operation Hometown Heroes” program were given the opportunity to ride aboard the museum's historic armor vehicles thanks to a joint effort coordinated by Stop & Shop, Nassau County and the Armor Museum that invited customers to write about the heroes in their own families.
