The Waldorf School of Garden City - Recovering from Hurricane Sandy

The Waldorf School of Garden City will remain closed tomorrow, Monday, November 5th and Tuesday, November 6th – which is Election Day. We currently anticipate opening the school on Wednesday, November 7th. As always, we will communicate again – via www.waldorfgarden.org and the School's Telephone Broadcast System – prior to that date.

Please note the following:

1) Large portions of Garden City are still without power, which means driving conditions are still very dangerous.

2) Please also be aware that a number of our faculty and staff are experiencing significant losses. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during these very difficult times. More information about help and assistance initiatives will be communicated in the coming days.

3) While electricity and heat are available at the School, the School’s telephone system and all email communications remain out-of-service.

Please also note:

1) All Nursery through Grade 8 Parent-Teacher Conferences – scheduled for Tuesday, November 6th – have been cancelled. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be re-scheduled for Monday, November 12th – which is Veteran’s Day. More information about Parent-Teacher Conferences will be communicated later this week.

2) Mrs. Kane's Nursery Parent Meeting scheduled for Monday, November 5th at 7:30 pm has been cancelled.

3) The 7th and 8th Grade Boys Trip to Camp Glen Brook – which was scheduled to depart this Monday, November 5th - has been postponed. The trip will be rescheduled to a yet-to-be-determined date.

The entire faculty and staff appreciate your patience during these very difficult times. We hope you and your families are safe and well.
