Change.org Petition Calls for Additional Crossing Guard at North Shore Schools
The petition was created after a middle school student was struck by a car.

At least 550 people want an additional crossing guard in the North Shore Public School District after a student was struck by a car on his way to school Wednesday morning.
That’s according to a new Change.org petition posted to Facebook.
The petition claims that during arrival and dismissal, there is not enough supervision at the intersection of Kissam Lane and Glen Cove Avenue.

The petition reads:
This intersection is congested and dangerous during school arrival and dismissal. Children are put at risk by crossing the street without adequate adult supervision and traffic control. We, the undersigned residents of Nassau County, request that you assign a Crossing Guard to safeguard our children.
