Landing Principal Gets Duct Taped to The School for a Good Cause

The activity was part of the school's three-week Pennies for Patients campaign to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Landing School Principal Benjamin Roberts allowed students and staff to duct tape him to the school wall on May 18 to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients campaign.

Each piece of duct tape cost one dollar and by the end of it, Roberts was in a sticky situation.

"Stuck for a Buck" was part of the school’s three-week campaign led by Fourth-grade teacher Maria DePace. Fundraising efforts included students donating money to classroom donation boxes daily, as well as weekly pen/pencil and bake sales. Each grade level also participated in Dance for a Dollar, donating money to participate in a grade-wide dance. In all, the students raised $5,380.40 for the organization.
