Long Island Divorce Lawyer to Officiate Weddings

On March 22, 2016, North Hempstead passed a resolution at the Town Board Meeting declaring a Long Island Divorce Lawyer, Dave Mejias, legally authorized to officiate weddings.

Long Island divorce lawyer, Dave Mejias, is the managing partner at Glen Cove firm Mejias, Milgrim and Alvarado. He will be marrying his former legislative assistant and campaign manager, Gina Sillitti with Kevin Clemency in a June ceremony. Sillitti worked with Mejias when he served as the first Latino legislator in Nassau County in 2003.

“As a divorce attorney, I’m of course pro-marriage!” joked Mejias. “There is no business without the institution. Sometimes it works and sometimes is doesn’t, but I have seen enough of what doesn’t work to know that Gina and Kevin have what it takes,” he added, “plus, if it doesn’t work out down the road – I know a great divorce attorney!”
