Glen Cove police say they arrested a Hempstead man on Cedar Swamp Road on Tuesday for possession of a loaded TEC-9 machine gun.
According to city police, Donell Leshawn Williams, 31, was placed in handcuffs at 11 a.m. that day, after city police and the Nassau County SWAT team executed a court ordered search warrant at 59 Cedar Swamp Road. Police said city detectives Christopher Grella and Robert Schlee obtained the warrant for the home as part of a Crime Prevention Unit investigation.
Police said Grella, Schlee and officer Chris Albin recovered the semi-automatic firearm and a fully loaded magazine from a bedroom in the home and Williams was arrested without incident.
