Glen Cove receives $15K grant for city-wide cigarette litter, efforts to protect Long Island Sound (longislandpress.com) — Glen Cove has secured a $15,000 grant to tackle cigarette litter citywide by installing more than 20 new receptacles and distributing portable ashtrays at local events. The Beautification Litter Prevention Program will partner with TerraCycle to recycle collected butts and keep them out of storm drains that flow into Long Island Sound, and is inviting volunteers to help.
