Starlab Is Back at Sands Point Preserve on Sunday

Children ages 4 and up can learn all about the night sky at one of four daytime sessions

The very popular Starlab, an indoor planetarium, will be back at the Sands Point Preserve on Sunday, Feb. 8 with four daytime sessions – 11 and 11:45 a.m., and 12:45 and 1:30 p.m.

The program is held at the original Guggenheim Estate, where membership helps protect the site’s historic buildings and grounds.

Always a favorite, the event is suited for children ages four and older to learn all about the night sky. While this event takes place indoors, dress for the outdoors to take a self-guided winter walk along the Preserve’s marked trails, weather permitting.

Sunday’s program is just one of many science and nature programs for children and their caregivers to discover the natural world around them as well as a bit of a local history.

Admission is $20 per car, or $10 with annual pass. Please register early, as space is strictly limited at each show.
The 2015 Annual Pass is now available, and benefits – including free admission to the Preserve and many of its events, as well as special discounts – start immediately.
