Dead Baby Found Behind Glen Head Home
Police originally responded to the home to assist a woman experiencing severe bleeding, reports say.

Authorities are investigating the discovery of newborn girl who was reportedly found dead behind a Glen Head home Thursday morning.
Police responded to the home at 8:20 a.m. to find a 20-year-old woman experiencing "profuse vaginal bleeding," according to Newsday.
Officers later returned to the home and found the infant in a bag on the home’s back deck, ABC reports. Officers did not say whether the child was alive when she was found, according to ABC.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine if the child was stillborn or born alive, the publication says.
It was later determined by hospital staff that the 20-year-old woman recently gave birth, Newsday reports.

Patch asked Nassau Police additional details regarding the incident and a representative said they could not provide any information. The representative said they were waiting for detectives and did not have any official information on record from the press conference that occurred earlier Thursday.
