Voter's Guide: North Shore 2017-18 School Budget, Board Election

What you need to know for election day.

North Shore residents will vote on the school district’s $102,113,514 proposed budget for the 2017-18 school year on Tuesday, May 16.

The proposal calls for a 2.633 percent increase in spending over the current year and an estimated $84,488,574 levy to levy increase, which is within the state’s tax cap.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the North High School Gymnasium.

Three candidates are running for two open seats on the North Shore Board of Education. Joanna Commander is seeking re-election and community members Cheryl Brown and Richard Galati are seeking election. Learn more about the candidates here.

Voter registration will take place in the Central Office, located at 112 Franklin Avenue in Sea Cliff, on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
