6 Train Service Restored After Train Evacuation In Gramercy
The train was evacuated around 12:30 due to a rail condition at 23rd Street, according to the MTA.

GRAMERCY, NY — The evacuation of a 6 train Thursday afternoon in Gramercy has prompted service changes on northbound 4, 5 and 6 lines. The train was evacuated into the 23rd Street-Park Avenue station due to a "rail condition," according to the MTA.
Around 2:10 p.m. the MTA announced that service on the 6 line was restored with residual delays.

For nearly two hours these service changes were in effect, according to the MTA:

- Some northbound 5 trains are running on the 2 line from Nevins St to 149 St-Grand Concourse.
- Some northbound 6 trains are running express from Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall or 14 St-Union Sq to Grand Central-42 St.
- Expect delays in northbound 4 and 5 train service.
A passenger on the evacuated train said that the train was stuck in the station due to a "broken track." The passengers on the train has to be evacuated through one car, the passenger said in a tweet.
