Man Robs Banks In Murray Hill, Upper East Side: Police
The bank robberies occurred within a week.

NEW YORK, NY — Police are searching for a man suspected of robbing banks on the Upper East Side and in Murray Hill within the past week.
The first robbery occurred Thursday, March 9, at a Santander Bank branch on Third Avenue and East 63rd Street, police told Patch. The man entered the bank around 11 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, police said. The teller complied and the man fled the scene heading toward Lexington Avenue with an undetermined amount of money, police said.
The suspect struck again on Monday, this time heading downtown to Murray Hill. The man entered a Chase Bank on Third Avenue between East 22nd and 23rd streets around 1:10 p.m. and repeated the same robbery routine, police told Patch. The bank teller once again complied and the man fled the bank with an undetermined amount of money, police said.

The suspect (pictured above) is described as a man in his 40s standing 6-feet and weighing about 200 pounds, police said. During both robberies the man was wearing a black puffy jacket, black jeans and a Yankees baseball cap, police told Patch.
