NEW YORK CITY — A 15-year-old girl was killed on Friday after she and another girl were struck by a truck while riding a bicycle in the East Village. The crash happened at East 14th Street and First Avenue around 9 p.m. According to police, a commercial truck was heading west and was turning right on First Avenue when he hit the two teens. Daria Serkov, of Peter Cooper Village, was taken to Bellevue Hospital where she was pronounced dead.A 16-year-old girl was also taken to the hospital for treatment. The truck driver remained at the scene, police said. No arrests have been made. An investigation remains ongoing.
