ActiVa Physical Therapy

Activa Physical Therapy is a private outpatient physical therapy practice dedicated to providing individualized, one-on-one care. Every treatment session is conducted privately with a licensed physical therapist for approximately 45 to 60 minutes, ensuring personalized attention, continuity of care, and treatment tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals. We provide evidence-based physical therapy to help patients reduce pain, restore mobility, improve balance, and return to the activities they enjoy. We treat individuals of all ages with orthopedic injuries, post-surgical conditions, neck and back pain, sports injuries, arthritis, tendon and ligament disorders, and conditions affecting the shoulder, hip, knee, foot, and ankle. We also specialize in vestibular rehabilitation for dizziness and vertigo, balance disorders, gait abnormalities, and fall prevention. Each patient receives a comprehensive evaluation followed by an individualized treatment plan that may include therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, vestibular and balance rehabilitation, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, postural education, and customized home exercise programs. Our goal is not only to relieve pain and restore function, but also to improve strength, mobility, confidence, and overall quality of life while helping prevent future injuries. Our office is conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan and is open Monday through Friday by appointment. Home physical therapy visits are also available when clinically appropriate. KIPS BAY, NY — Two pedestrians were mowed down by a car in Kips Bay Wednesday evening, FDNY said. Medics responded to a 911 call on the accident at 5:23 p.m. and arrived to discover two victims lying unresponsive in the street. The individuals were transported to Bellevue Hospital. Their condition is unclear, a fire department spokesman said. The condition of the driver is unknown and the cause of the crash is under investigation. The Jay Medal for Service was created in 2012 to recognize individuals who demonstrate a selfless spirit of commitment to and engagement with their community mirroring the multifaceted contributions of John Jay and his descendants. These honorees have demonstrated through their life's work that our shared narratives as a country, complicated as they are, can be better illuminated through the highest caliber of ongoing scholarship and advocacy. Honorees are selected for their excellence in the fields of American history, environmental stewardship, social justice or civic engagement.
Joining the celebration will be Chief Judge of the State of New York and the New York Court of Appeals, Honorable Rowan D. Wilson and historian and philanthropist Elihu Rose who will present the awards at JHC's annual Soirée. Special guests will include David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman, and Beverly Gage.

The Jay Medal Soirée will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Jay Estate from 5:30-9:30pm. Cocktails, dinner, award ceremony and dancing. Cocktail Attire.
