Speakers will stress the importance of family leave insurance legislation to business as well as to men, women and families.

Reconstructionist Synagogue Rabbi Lee Friedlander will moderate.

Today’s adults grew up believing that gender equality at home and in the workplace is a given. Yet, when family and work obligations collide, women are more likely to forego careers than men. At every educational level, women earn significantly less than men.  The forum will consider the implications for families, what is needed to lessen the inevitable stress and potential legislative options.

This will be the second in a series of forums dealing with women’s and family issues. Cosponsors are the Reconstructionist Synagogue and the Women’s Group &Social Justice Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter rock.
