Long Island Children’s Choir is Long Island’s premier chorus for music-loving students, regardless of socioeconomic backgrounds.
LICC offers children opportunities to experience the joy of singing at a time when many music and arts programs at school districts across Long Island are shrinking or at risk due to budget cuts. With its inaugural season launched in September 2013, the program is designed to enhance the musical education students are already receiving, whether they are educated in public or private schools, or educated at home.
LICC’s three choral ensembles include Prelude, for grades 1 through 4; Harmonia, for intermediate and advanced singers in grades 5 through 12; and Lyric, for advanced singers in grades 7 through 12. Acceptance is by audition only, and teacher recommendations are required. Rehearsals are held weekly.
