Firefighters Extinguish Dix Hills Garage Fire
The Dix Hills Fire Department received assistance from several fire departments and rescue personnel during the alarm.

Fifty firefighters and rescue personnel responded to a garage fire in Dix Hills Sunday at 9:50 a.m.
The fire was in the attached garage of a Dulce Lane home and firefighters were able to bring it under control in about a half-hour, fire officials said.

The blazed caused smoke damage to the rest of the home, but there were no reported injuries.
The Dix Hills Fire Department received assistance from Greenlawn and Deer Park fire departments and coverage from the Melville Fire Department and Huntington Community First Aid Squad during the alarm. Firefighters and rescue personnel were on the scene with six trucks, two ambulances and first responder and paramedic units. These units were under the command of Chief Robert Fling and Third Assistant Chief Joe Williamson.

Fire officials believe the fire was an accident.
The incident is being investigated by the Town of Huntington Fire Marshal.
The Dix Hills Fire Department has responded to nine house fires so far this year. The most recent house fire took place on Saturday, April 4, where firefighters rescued an elderly man.
