Half Hollow Hills Graduate Sabrina Kim Receives 2015 State Farm Companies Foundation Scholarship
State Farm Companies Foundation has been providing the Foundation Scholarship since 1963

Dix Hills resident Sabrina Kim is the recipient of a 2015 State Farm State Farm Companies Foundation scholarship. Students are selected on the basis of academic excellence and extracurricular accomplishments and receive $3,000 to $8,000 a year for four years.
Sabrina graduated Half Hollow Hills High School West in June 2015. She had a 4.0 GPA and was a member of the “Top Twenty,” of her graduating class. In addition to academics, Sabrina was also involved in student government for all four years of high school, having been Class President, Class Representative and Student Government President.
She was an All-County fencer, team captain for the high school fencing team for her junior and senior year, named MVP in her junior year and also rated by the United States Fencing Association.

Sabrina played the cello in the school orchestra, her district’s Cross Campus Chamber Orchestra and various All-County orchestras including in the Suffolk County Music Educator’s Association (SCMEA) Festival. In her senior year, she received the Half Hollow Hills “Triple A” Award for excellence in Academics, Athletics and the Arts. Sabrina began school at the University of Pennsylvania this fall.

State Farm Companies Foundation has been providing the Foundation Scholarship since 1963.
Legal dependents of State Farm employees, agents, and retirees are eligible to compete for this scholarship. Students must take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) during the fall of their junior year in high school, and submit a Foundation Scholarship Entry Form to the Foundation by Feb. 28 of the following year.
National Merit Scholarship Corporation selects and announces scholarship recipients during the spring semester of the students’ senior year. Each scholarship recipient will receive $3,000 - $8,000 per year for four years toward an undergraduate degree at an accredited U.S. college or university.
