La Focaccia, a Pizzeria and Gourmet Eatery

Fresh, bold and very busy.

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant draws you in.  but we’ve got a better idea.  Each week Dix Hills Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out.

Here is this week’s choice:

La Focaccia -- True to its signage, La Focaccia is a pizzeria and gourmet eatery rolled into one.  An extremely popular place where paninis, wraps and salads are not just afterthoughts, but "stars" in their own right.

Just a glance at the display case as you enter La Focaccia tells the whole story:  simply fresh and bold with generous portions.

Their most popular gourmet pizza, Crispino ($24.95), is a square pie made with fresh sliced tomato, homemade mozzarella, fresh basil leaves, roasted red pepper and drizzled with dark rich balsamic dressing.
La Focaccia Panini ($7.75), delicious eaten hot or cold, is filled with grilled chicken, homemade mozzarella, roasted red peppers, tomato bruschetta, fresh basil leaves and balsamic dressing.

La Focaccia’s Italian menu runs the full gamut from appetizers to soups, to entrees of chicken, veal and seafood, complete with homemade cheesecake and cannoli.

This small gem is packed during peak lunch and dinner hours.

Open seven days a week offering takeout and delivery.
