LIE Lane Closures Start Thursday
Exit 49 North in Melville will be closed for four days while the County repairs the overpass.

Travel lanes of the Long Island Expressway at in Melville will be closed for four days, starting on Thursday, while bridge repairs are made, the Suffolk County Department of Public Works department announced on Wednesday.
Two travel lanes of the Expressway in the eastbound or westbound direction will be shutdown at the County Road 3/Pinelawn Road Bridge (Exit 49N).
Weather permitting, the closures will continue for approximately four days. Two eastbound lanes will be shut down between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Feb. 17 and 18, and two westbound travel lanes will be closed between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Nov. 21 and 22.

The department said in a release that the travel lane closures are needed to perform a center line joint repair to the overpass in order to maintain its structural integrity and prevent deterioration.
Drivers are warned to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
