The Police and the Constitution

May 27, 2015 Half Hollow Hills Community Library-55 Vanderbilt Parkway, Dix Hills NY 11746

Wednesday, 05-27-2015, 10:15AM - 12:00PM. Throughout American history, the Supreme Court has struggled with a delicate balance between two sometimes opposing objectives: the preservation of individual liberty and the obligation to ensure public safety. This lecture with a unique perspective highlights how Foundingera ideals apply to the evolving powers and limitations of the police in modern society. This program is co-sponsored by the Greens’ Men’s Group and is made possible by a grant from the New York Council for the Humanities. Free registration begins April 27. 631-421-4530
