Stern Marks April as “Month of the Military Child”

Suffolk Legis. teams with business owners to give kids whose parents serve in the military a month of fun.

Suffolk County Legis. Steve Stern (D) is dedicating the month of April to children whose parents serve in the military.

The legislator introduced legislation marking April as “Month of the Military Child” to recognize and honor the sacrifices made not only by the brave men and women serving our great nation, but by their families as well, he said in a press release.

The legislator, who is chairman of the veterans and seniors committee, is also honoring local business leaders who go the extra mile to make this month a happy one for military children.

“As Chairman of the Veterans and Seniors Committee, I have the great honor to work with and for our military members and their families and am acutely aware of the immense sacrifices they make on a daily basis,” Stern said. ‘It is vitally important to support these families and especially their children, not just with words, but with action. I am pleased to host this event for the children and their families as a way to give back and let them know we support them. I would also like to thank John and Steve for their incredible generosity and dedication to our servicemen and women and their families.”
