Sunshine Toy Drive Kicks off at Dix Hills Fire Department
Get the details on donating new children's toys and clothing to bring holiday cheer to the less fortunate.

The Sunshine Toy Drive in Dix Hills is now collecting donations of toys for the holiday season.
Ever since fourth grade, Victoria Plumitallo, now a 16-year-old Dix Hills high school student, wanted to help children-in-need receive holiday gifts. With help from her parents, Dix Hills Fire Commissioner Mike Plumitallo and his wife Hope, Plumitallo created the toy drive eight years ago. The drive has helped thousands of less fortunate local children during the holidays.
Derived from her nickname “Sunshine,” Victoria Plumitallo’s idea grew into the “Sunshine Toy Drive” hosted by the Dix Hills Fire Department.
