The New System of Voting

What people are saying about the new method.

The votes are in--so far. And people don't seem thrilled with the new way we have to vote.

First time voters said it was easy, similar to taking the SATs. But many people said it seemed backward.

Judy Nathanson said, "It seems archaic. But like with anything new, we have to give it a chance. I can't believe they call this progress."

Tina Benicasa agreed that it was pretty easy, and like all the others who were voting at lunchtime at , she found no lines, no delays and no broken machines. 

One man who didn't want his name used, said, "We're supposed to be going paperless, I thought, and now we have all this paper. It's stupidity."

Scott Machold, a former Candlewood student, and his girlfriend, Jaclyn Weissenberger, of Deer Park, said, "The other way was faster. And you knew what was going on when you pulled the lever. This is way too slow. It's like the 1830s."

Kyle Fitzgerald, a senior at Hills West, was with his mom, Angela Christmas Fitzgerald, who liked the new system. "It seemed much more efficient to me than the old system," she said. "It tells you if you voted properly, right away. I liked it better."
