The Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center invites you to our Community Health Fair — a fun-filled day with free health screenings, referrals, information, and resources designed to support the health and wellbeing of individuals and families of all ages.

We’re extremely pleased to host this event at one of Harlem’s most beautiful parks—named in honor of one of Harlem’s finest leaders, Mr. Herman “Denny” Farrell, Jr., an early champion of the Bowen Center and a dear friend of our founder, Mrs. Emma Bowen.

This free event will bring together healthcare providers, community partners, and local organizations to offer valuable services and guidance. In addition to learning about important health resources, guests will enjoy:

    • Free health screenings & referrals
    • Youth Tennis Clinics by Sportime
    • Games and fun activities for all ages
    • Music, snacks, and community entertainment
    • Free giveaways: First 400 adults and 200 children who participate in screenings, activities and visit with our participants!
    • Exciting raffle prizes throughout the day

Featured Health Screenings...

  • HIV, Hep C and Glucose testing by Ryan Health
  • Prostate Screening (via blood test) by Mt. Sinai

...will be held at 520 West 135th Street (between Broadway & Amsterdam Avenue).

A complimentary shuttle bus will run between West 135th Street and Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park, throughout the event so participants can experience the full range of screenings, resources, and activities and qualify for the free giveaways.

Beloved WBLS personality “Doctor” Bob Lee returns as Master of Ceremonies, and we will also pause during the event to honor three Harlem legends we’ve recently lost:

  • Congressman Charlie Rangel
  • Hazel Dukes, NAACP NYS Chapter President
  • Lloyd Williams, President of the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce & founder of Harlem Week

Don’t miss this opportunity to take charge of your health, connect with community resources, and enjoy a fun-filled day of community with your family, friends, and neighbors.
