Join SNMG Garden Intern Team for a hands-on day of learning, growing, and building at our garden and greenhouse site.This event is free and open to everyone in the community. All ages and experience levels are welcome.
What you'll do:
🌱 Grow Microgreens: Learn about the nutritional benefits of microgreens and watch a live demonstration of the full growth cycle, from seed to harvest.
🍄 Grow Mushrooms: See how mushrooms can be grown at home or in small spaces, with a hands-on demo of each growth stage.
♻️ Build a Compost Sifter: Work with our team to build your own compost and soil sifter to take home. This supports sustainable, circular food practices.
🏡 Build a Critter Home: Make a small wildlife home to support pollinators and helpful garden critters.
💧 Greenhouse Irrigation Debut: Be among the first to see our new greenhouse irrigation system in action.
Why it matters: This event helps us build healthy habits, strengthen the local food environment, and make sustainable growing practices accessible to everyone in Harlem and the Bronx.
