HARLEM, NY — Most meetings and events may be virtual these days, but there's still plenty going on in Harlem.
Patch has compiled a list of events for neighbors to mark on their calendars. From community meetings to family events, here are the dates to know for the week of May 2.
Sunday, May 2

- Cleaning tree beds and planting on nearby blocks
- Gloves, brooms, shovels and other supplies provided by the Department of Sanitation
- Social distancing will be in effect; snacks from nearby small businesses will likely be offered
Cleanup at St. Nicholas Park
- Meets at 11 a.m.
- Hosted by Friends of St. Nicholas Park
Movement Speaks: free on-street, in-person dance classes for older adults
- West Harlem: West 122nd Street and Riverside Drive Grants Tomb Plaza
- Ongoing until July 30
- Central Harlem: 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., West 124th St. between St. Nicholas & Morningside Aves.

The West Harlem Development Corporation is hosting a contest asking West Harlem artists to help design its new logo — the winner will receive $1,250, with smaller prizes for second and third place. Deadline to apply is May 31.
Community Board 10 is asking people to donate personal care and toiletry items for seniors — learn more here
Applications are open for the Harlem Youth gardeners program, running from March 27 – May 15
East Harlem's Pleasant Village Community Garden is seeking volunteers — email pleasantvillagegarden@gmail.com to volunteer.
