Man Wearing Bra Wanted For Harlem Armed Robberies, Police Say

The man and an accomplice are wanted in connection with a robbery spree that occurred during the summer, police said.

HARLEM, NY — The NYPD are trying to identify two men involved in an armed robbery spree in Harlem this summer, police told Patch. In recently release surveillance video one of the two male suspects can be seen wearing a bra during an armed robbery.

Three different Harlem businesses were robbed at gunpoint — one store was robbed twice — between July 4 and Sept. 27, police said. The first four robberies were committed by just one man, but he enlisted the help of his bra-wearing accomplice for the fifth and final robbery, police said.

The stick ups started on July 4, police told Patch. A man entered a Dunkin Donuts on Lenox Avenue and West 136th Street shortly after 4 a.m. and threatened a 54-year-old worker with a gun, police said. The worker handed him $350, police said.

Less than two weeks later, on July 15 around 4 a.m., the robber entered the same Dunkin Donuts and again threatened store workers with a gun, police said. This time the man was handed $450, police said.

The same man is wanted in connection with two robberies that occurred during the month of August. On Aug. 19 the man entered a Texas Fried Chicken on Lenox Avenue near West 133rd Street and flashed a gun, police said. Store workers gave the man $1,000 during the robbery.

On Aug. 27 the robber broke his pattern, police told Patch. The man approached a person on the corner of Madison Avenue and East 129th Street and threatened them with a gun, police said. The person handed over $600, police said.

On Sept. 27 two men entered an IHOP on East 126th Street and Lexington Avenue around 5:20 a.m., police said. The men approached the register, flashed a gun and demanded money, police said. The robbers fled the restaurant with $600 from the register, police told Patch.
