Police ID Man, 28, Fatally Shot In Harlem Tuesday

Police identified the 28-year-old man, reportedly a father of three, who was shot and killed in broad daylight Tuesday in Harlem.

HARLEM, NY — Police on Wednesday identified the 28-year-old man who was fatally shot in the neck in broad daylight Tuesday on Malcolm X Boulevard near 125th Street in Central Harlem.

The victim was Javon Bradley, a resident of the Marble Hill Houses in the Bronx, police said.

Bradley was shot just after 3 p.m. Tuesday and brought to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:05 p.m

According to the New York Daily News, Bradley, a father of three, had tried to chase a drug dealer off of the street corner minutes before the shooting. The dealer left, but then returned and shot Bradley as he ducked for cover in a white van that was parked in front of a Wells Fargo bank, the Daily News reported.

Minutes after the shooting, as a crowd formed on the sidewalk, paramedics dragged Bradley from the van and performed chest compressions on the ground before loading him into an ambulance.

Police have not made an arrest or named any suspects.
