Politicians To Host Obamacare Town Halls In Harlem, Washington Heights
The town hall discussions will focus on an anticipated repeal of the Affordable Care Act during a Trump Administration.

UPTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Uptown Manhattan politicians will be holding healthcare town halls Sunday to discuss an anticipated repeal of the Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as Obamacare.
The town halls will be open to the public and held Sunday, Jan. 14 at Harlem Hospital from 12-1:30 p.m., at Motefiore Heath System in the Bronx from 3-4:30 p.m. and at Columbia University Medical Center in Washington Heights from 5-6:30 p.m., according to Congressman Adriano Espaillat's office.
The town halls are being organized by Espaillat and several local representatives at the state and city level including State Senators Bill Perkins, Jamaal Bailey and Marisol Alcantara, State Assembly Members Inez Dickens, Jeffrey Dinowitz and Carmen de la Rosa and City Councilmen Ydanis Rodriguez and Andrew Cohen.

Republicans in the House of Representatives voted Friday afternoon, against a unanimous minority of Democrats, to pass a resolution that puts them on the path to repealing the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, the president's signature legislative accomplishment.
Nine House Republicans also voted against the measure, which passed 227-198.

The measure passed Friday does not actually repeal the law. Instead, it will allow Republicans to use the budget reconciliation to repeal central features of Obamacare. Senate Republicans already the passed measure Thursday.
