Third Body Pulled From Harlem River In Two Weeks, Police Say

A man's body was found near the Macomb's Dam Bridge Wednesday morning, police told Patch.

HARLEM, NY — A man's body was pulled from the Harlem River Wednesday morning in the vicinity of the Macomb's Dam Bridge, an NYPD spokeswoman told Patch.

A tugboat operator noticed the body floating in the river and called police around 6:20 a.m., police told Patch. The NYPD Harbor unit transported the man's body to the Yankee Stadium ferry pier where EMS pronounced the woman dead.

The man was full clothed and wearing a backpack when he was found, an NYPD spokesman said. Police have not identified the man but said he appeared to be 17 or 18 years old.

The incident marks the third time a body has been recovered from the Harlem River near the Macomb's Dam Bridge in the past two weeks. On Thursday, June 29 a man's body was pulled from the river and on Saturday a man's body was discovered on the river's rocky shores.
