Harrison Youth Council, with the generous funding and support of the Harrison High School Student Government and the Harrison High School PTA, presents a day and an evening of learning and conversation about Prescription Medicine Mis-use.
The presentation to the students will be on Monday March 5th, sponsored by the Caron Foundation, and is called "Live to Tell." The speaker is Tim Rader, who tells his compelling life story of becoming addicted to prescription pain killers in high school after contracting cancer and the struggles with addiction he has experienced throughout his life.
On Tuesday March 6th, parents will hear an overview of the daytime presentation by Tim and information from representatives of the Caron Foundation on Prescription Medicine abuse risks and ways to protect teenagers. During that time, the students will participate in breakout sessions led by school and Harrison Youth Council staff. Then the teenagers will rejoin their parents in the HPAC to be part of an interactive panel discussion led by the night’s speakers and experts from Harrison.
